1. Who may receive a Downtown - “R” residential parking permit?

Residents within the Downtown Parking District on those streets where a time limit or paid parking restriction is posted may receive a preferential residential parking permit based upon the number of available off-street parking spaces that the residence has available. Which will include the number of garages, parking spaces, driveway spaces, covered parking, etc. If your area currently does not have any parking restrictions but becomes impacted due to the shift in parking your area may qualify for restricted parking. This would mean that you may be eligible for a parking permit with the same conditions.

2. What are the Downtown - "R" residential parking permit rules? How many can one residence have?

The general rule is that no more than 1 permit per residential unit will be issued, and the permittee is restricted to the same block and street, parking structure or parking lot shown on the hang tag. In the case of Summerset Apartments residents may purchase a permit to park in the parking structure but are limited to the top floor only and no on-street parking. Permits are not valid for metered areas that are not within the same block and street that is assigned.
