How do I view building permit records?

A Public Portal that allows for access to the permit history of City of Ventura addresses is available on the Records webpage.

The Public Portal is available 24/7 and there is no fee to conduct your search and print the records you desire. Records online include: Microfiche Permits, Permits, Private Sewer Lateral Reports, etc.

If you do not find the information you are seeking, request records from home or the office by logging on to My Ventura Access

City staff can process your request and locate records, subject to a fee (see current fee schedule).  Please note: If you are looking for copies of Archive plans, you will need to obtain a signed release from the design professional and property owner before those documents can be released. Please call 805-654-7869 to get more information about the process.
