The City of Ventura Public Works Department has scheduled Contractor, Granite Construction, to repave Loma Vista Road between Mills Road and Main Street starting on September 1, 2017. Loma Vista Road will remain open to traffic during the work, however, there may be temporary lane closures along the construction route and motorist will be advised of detours with traffic cones and/or signage. The project includes sidewalk improvements, installation of ADA access ramps, street paving and striping, and bicycle improvements to ensure mobility and safety for motorists and pedestrians. Construction work is expected to be completed by mid-October 2017.
During construction the Contractor will perform the following work indicated below however; these dates may change due to unforeseen conditions encountered by the Contractor that may significantly impact the work schedule:
This construction is funded through gas tax revenues and is part of the City’s Capital Improvement Plan. The project is providing critical infrastructure for residents, businesses, and the new “Wellness District.”
Work will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Message boards will be placed on the street prior to the start of work to notify motorists of the construction dates and time of work. “No Parking” signs will be posted 72 hours in advance to notify motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians of any on-street parking restrictions or special constraints.
As the work progresses, residents are reminded to drive carefully and follow traffic signage. Every effort will be made to minimize inconveniences while this work is being completed.
