[ARCHIVED] Mulch Madness

Mulch Madness

Join us for our quarterly mulch and compost giveaway at the Cornucopia Community Gardens. Participants need to register in advance for an appointment and to preorder the amount of mulch and/or compost they plan to pick-up. Participants will be expected to bag their own mulch and compost products and to bring their own bag or bucket to collect material.

Both mulch and compost are great additions to a home garden or residential landscape. Compost is a nutrient rich a soil amendment, which helps improve soil health and supports plant growth. Mulch is used on the top layer of the soil to control weeds, retain moisture, regulate temperature, and make the garden bed look more attractive.

Mulch and compost products are sourced from Agromin, and provided by the City of Ventura to residents free of charge. Spaces are limited. Learn more and register here: www.cityofventura.ca.gov/ESevents
