The City of Ventura got a special visit from U.S. EPA Administrator Michael Regan and Congresswoman Julia Brownley on August 18, 2021. Dignitaries joined Mayor Sofia Rubalcava, Deputy Mayor Joe Schroeder, City Manager Alex McIntyre, and Ventura Water General Manager Susan Rungren in touring the City's water reclamation facility, collecting data under the proposed bipartisan infrastructure deal. City leaders spoke with officials about drought, water infrastructure needs, and projects to diversify Ventura’s water supply like the State Water Interconnection Project and VenturaWaterPure.
