Oxnard Plain Aquifer Monitoring Well

Project Description

Construct  monitoring wells clustered into one column up to 625 feet below surface; to obtain an undisturbed core sample and construct permanent monitoring wells with varying depths.. The core samples are necessary for determining the hydrogeological conditions for the future Indirect Potable Reuse groundwater injection and extraction wells, which are necessary to store and recover water produced by the Advance Water Purification Facility (AWPF). The permanent monitoring wells are necessary to monitor groundwater conditions.

VenturaWaterPure would include diversion of the VWRF tertiary-treated flows and low-quality groundwater to a new AWPF to produce highly purified water. The groundwater would be pumped from the Oxnard Plain Basins. Once treated at the AWPF, the water would be used for groundwater augmentation and/or direct potable reuse. The diverted VWRF tertiary-treated discharge would be conveyed to the AWPF for purification, and then conveyed via pipelines and pumping stations to groundwater injection wells to supplement the City’s water supply for indirect potable reuse (IPR), or conveyed directly to the Bailey WCF and/or the Saticoy WCF for disinfection and distribution for direct potable reuse (DPR).
