Pierpont Stormwater Lift Stations

Project Description

The Pierpont area stormwater drainage system relies on two key lift stations located on Weymouth and Dover Lanes.  Each station consists of three pumps capable of pumping stormwater at a rate of 8,000 gallons per minute, a smaller pump for dry weather flow and an automated control system.  These lift stations were built in the 1970’s and after 49 years have exceeded their service life.  The concrete structures encasing these lift stations are also showing signs of deterioration.

The proposed stormwater lift stations consist of 3 pumps, each with 12-inch diameter discharge line and a small 6-inch pump for low flow.  The new lift stations will have smaller foot print and lower profile than the existing structures.  In addition to the pump and its enclosure, the direct buried electrical cable from Pierpont Blvd. will be replaced with new electrical cables enclosed in a conduit.

The design of the lift stations is anticipated to be completed in February 2021; however, it is not budgeted for construction.  Construction of these facilities is anticipated to happen in the near future years once the funding is secured.
