This project provides for a new well in the Mound Basin (Mound Well #3) to have a capacity of approximately 2,500 to 3,000 gallons per minute located at the east end of Inez St. The well and a new transmission line will tie into an existing City transmission line 650 feet away in Ventura Boulevard that leads to Baily Water Conditioning Facility. Construction of Mound Well 3 will occur in three phases. The 1st phase consists of construction of approximately 250 LF of stormdrain and 650 LF of transmission pipeline. The 2nd phase consists of well drilling. The final phase consists of site improvements, installing the pump, motor, and related equipment, and making the new well operational.
Phase I: Well drilling approximately 800-feet deep (completed January 2019).
Phase II: Construction of approximately 250 LF of storm drain and 650 LF of transmission pipeline (completed October 2019).
Phase III: Site improvements, pump, motor and related equipment installation to render the well operational (current and final phase).
