Meet one of our newest team members, Lateral Firefighter-Paramedic Marcos Gomez!
Marcos grew up in Ventura County, and prior to joining our team, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Military Police Officer and Watch Commander for 6 years, serving in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Nevada. While still on active duty, he prepared to switch to the fire service so he could continue in public service. He worked for Federal Fire in Ventura as a firefighter and a fire engineer for four years.
He is also a state-certified Hazmat Technician with pumper, aerial, and aircraft rescue firefighter driver certifications. He has earned an associate's degree in emergency management.
In his free time, he enjoys going to the river, boating on various lakes, and spending time with his wife and three kids, ages 6, 4, and 2. Fun fact - his brother, Chris Gomez, serves Ventura as a police officer!
