Learn more about the Ventura Countywide Watershed Management Program on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Camarillo City Hall Council Chambers, located at 601 Carmen Drive. The Ventura County Stormwater Quality Management Program and Craftwater Engineering, a consultant team on this project, will provide an overview of the Ventura Countywide Watershed Management Program (WMP) development process. Other meeting topics include:
- WMP development and framework
- How compliance with Water Quality Requirements is being pursued
- Potential program enhancements and structural project opportunities
- Opportunities to provide input on the WMP
When it rains, pollutants are carried from streets and paved areas through the storm drain system to local rivers, creeks, lakes and the ocean. It is the responsibility of the ten incorporated Cities, the County, and the Ventura County Watershed Protection District to keep that water clean. These agencies are working collaboratively with Craftwater Engineering to develop the WMP, which is a planning document for municipalities to use to pursue compliance with Clean Water Act surface water requirements within the urbanized areas of Ventura County.
