The Ventura Police Department is excited to invite community members to join officers and staff for the annual Tip-A-Cop fundraiser, benefiting Special Olympics athletes in Ventura County. The event will be hosted at Finney’s Crafthouse, located at 494 E. Main Street, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

“Every dollar raised during this community fundraiser makes a tangible difference within our community, empowering and supporting Special Olympics athletes right here in Ventura County,” said Chief Darin Schindler. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Finney’s for their partnership and eagerly anticipate another remarkable successful and impactful event.”

Ventura police officers will join forces with Special Olympics athletes and Finney’s staff members to assist as guest servers, collecting "tip" donations. Envelopes will be provided to dining residents upon checkout to give directly to the cause without impacting the income of the servers working that evening.

The Ventura County Special Olympics offers year-round sports training and athletic competition in various sports for children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. Through these programs, participants have the opportunity to develop physical fitness, hone their skills, and form lasting friendships.
