The Ventura Police Department is asking for the community's help in collecting Easter basket donations to support the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation and local children completing various cancer treatments.
Empty baskets, stuffed animals, individually wrapped candy, faux grass for baskets, clear wrapping paper, and all Easter related supplies will be accepted through Friday, March 24, 2023. All donations can be brought to the Ventura Police Department, located at 1425 Dowell Drive, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
"In 2022, we assembled more than 150 baskets with all items donated. We are so thankful for our community's generosity and support in this effort," said Chief of Police Darin Schindler. "This basket drive is an important way to show these children and their families they are not alone."
The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation advocates for families living in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties that have a child with cancer by providing financial, educational, and emotional support.
