Sustainable Self Care - DIY Recipes

Posted on April 30, 2020 at 6:55 AM by Natalie Nebilak

Self care looks different for everyone. For some it's an afternoon with tea and a book, for others an evening of cooking a homemade meal with family. For others still, it is caring for our physical well-being by pampering ourselves with natural ingredients that nourish and replenish.

We have assembled recipes for bath & body items that can be made with common ingredients from your home. An added bonus to all natural bath & body care is the absence of single use packaging. We recommend making small portions to keep your creations from expiring before being used up.

  • 1:1 ratio

  • Baking soda & coconut oil

  • ~5 drops peppermint essential oil for every ½ cup coconut oil

Scented Bath Salt

  • 2 Parts Epsom Salt

  • 1 Part Kosher Salt

  • 5 Drops Essential Oil (pick your fave or mix a few!)

Body Scrubs are great for moisturizing and refreshing dull skin by removing dead skin cells and adding hydration to the skin as you massage in the scrub. Rinse off after using and moisturize to protect that fresh. Great to use during a shower!

Sugar Scrub

  • Raw sugar

  • Sweet almond oil or vegetable oil

Add almond oil to the raw sugar gradually until desired consistency is reached

Mylk Body Scrub

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 Tbsp milk alternative (soy is great)

Stir until creamy
