Volunteer Opportunities!

Posted on February 13, 2020 at 8:57 AM by Natalie Nebilak

Volunteering is a great way to learn more about, and give back to, your community. Volunteering gives one a sense of pride and accomplishment, and an opportunity to make new friends. There are several organizations in Ventura that are always happy to have volunteers.

The Ventura Land Trust The Ventura Land Trust is a non-profit organization that protects Ventura’s land, water, wildlife, and scenic views while connecting people to nature and outdoor recreation.  Each year the VLT hosts hundreds of local students on free outdoor environmental field trips, presents a series of community Environmental Speaker Series lectures and hosts an array of volunteer and community activities like the following:

  • habitat restoration

  • tree plantings

  • trail building

  • nature hikes

The Surfrider Ventura County Chapter holds monthly beach cleanups, work towards ecosystem restoration, and have been working diligently on the Surfer’s Point Managed Shoreline Retreat.
