Clean Space, Clear Mind

CleanSpace

Research shows that cleaning up your living space is a great energy boost that fosters happiness and a renewed focus. When we declutter our surroundings, we are also helping to declutter our minds. Deep cleaning also supports optimum health by keeping nasty allergens at bay, as clutter is a magnet for dust and other microscopic nasties. As self-care comes more into focus for many of us, we can do ourselves a great service by getting rid of unwanted items and creating a clean space to rest our minds and bodies.

If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to start, simply pick one area of your home to focus on. For example: the bedroom closet. As a general rule of thumb, you can ask yourself, "Have I worn this or thought about this in the last 6 months?" If the answer is no, perhaps it is time to let that item go. Of course there are special circumstances for heirlooms and items with special meaning.
