The Cornucopia Community Garden, located on Telephone Rd. between Johnson Dr. & Ramelli Ave, is the City of Ventura's largest community garden with approximately 152 plots available for growing healthy, organic vegetables and flowers. Managed by staff from the City of Ventura Parks, Recreation, and Community Partnerships Department, the garden attracts community members from all walks of life who come together to cultivate the land and celebrate their harvest.
Garden plots are rented and assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Plots average approximately 18ft x 20ft.
Current rental fees are $85.00 per plot for 6 months, due on January 1 and July 1. A $85.00 refundable garden deposit is also required. Garden plot fees will be prorated for renters joining the garden between billing cycles.
A 10% surcharge will be added to plot rental fees for customers who live outside Ventura city limits. This surcharge helps defray the costs for upkeep of City parks and facilities that are supported by Ventura taxpayers.
Rental fees include:
Green waste and trash disposal
Interested gardeners are asked to leave a message at 805-658-4754. A garden manager will contact you to schedule an onsite orientation at the garden.
The 'Friends of the Cornucopia Garden' meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9:00-11:00 a.m. to help clean and beautify the common areas in and around the garden.
Please visit our Volunteer Ventura! page to sign up for this and/or other volunteer opportunities. Volunteers under the age of 14 may volunteer for the garden work day if accompanied by a parent or guardian. All volunteers are required to complete a waiver before beginning any volunteer work. Verification of community service hours will be provided upon request.
