Assist in recommending and promoting public parks and recreation programs, facilities and events, and to stimulate interest. Review and recommend on those portions of the long range capital improvement program pertaining to the development of parks and facilities, beaches, golf courses, playing fields and recreation centers.

The Tree Advisory Ad-Hoc Committee provides assistance and advice in enhancing, maintaining, and preserving the City's tree inventory; and advises and makes recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Commission regarding the comprehensive street tree management plan, street tree inventory, and City tree master plan if directed by City Council or City Manager Designee. Committee members will also review, evaluate, and make a recommendation to Parks and Recreation Commission on appeals relating to removal of public trees.
