This national award-winning U.S. Sailing Association Community Sailing Center provides youth, adult and group sailing, kayaking and standup paddleboard activities, passage making, youth camps and safe boating courses year-round for beginning through advanced students.
The center currently has 19 boats, ranging from 14 to 30 feet, from Sabots to a Catalina 30, as well as ten kayaks and eight standup paddleboards. Its boats and equipment come from the State of California Department of Boating and Waterways, the Ventura Maritime Foundation, and private donations.
The City of Ventura Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Partnerships has managed and maintained this community sailing facility since 1972, with support from the Maritime Foundation. Read about center founder Leo Robbins.
Most classes are held at Marina Park and instructors are U.S. Sailing and American Sailing Association certified.
