Pursuant to the Public Records Act (California Government Code Section 6250, et seq.), a person may request copies or review public records. With certain exceptions, all records of the City are public records to which the public is entitled access.
Timeline for Requests
Within 10 days the City will notify the requester and provide an estimate for the records. If any exemptions from disclosure or delay in providing the information are know, the City notifies the requester within 10 days for a 14 day extension.

The City of Ventura proudly introduces our new digital archiving system known as OnBase. OnBase allows the public to access various public records.
The City started our repository with our highly referenced City Council records. Users can browse, search, retrieve, download and print documents. The system is available 24/7 with no fees involved with searching and download the records.
