Affordable Housing Program

The City's Affordable Housing Program encompasses rental and for-sale housing units throughout the city that are restricted in cost in order to be affordable to low- and moderate-income families. Individuals meeting the eligibility criteria may be able to rent or purchase an affordable unit, depending on availability. Certain restrictions are attached to affordable units in order to maintain long-term affordability.

The Affordable Housing Program and various loan programs are administered by the Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura, an agency separate from the City of Ventura. The primary function of the Housing Authority is to manage and administer housing assistance programs in the City of Ventura in order to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing to families in need.
