State Mandated Annual Inspections

Pursuant to the City of Ventura's City Council Resolution No. 2020-019, effective July 23, 2021, the City of Ventura is authorized to charge an inspection fee and associated technology, vendor billing, and administrative fee for state mandated and other fire inspections seen in the adopted fee schedule. The City of Ventura has contracted with Fire Recovery USA, LLC, a 3rd party billing service, to administer billing on behalf of the Ventura Fire Department.

State Mandated Annual Inspections

The state mandated annual inspections specified within the fee schedule for billing include but are not limited to, R1/R2 occupancies such as apartments, hotels, motels, and condominiums, as well as high-rise and other state required inspections.

Vendor Billing/Administrative Fee 18.50 per invoice
Technology Fee 7% % of fees paid

The above inspection fee includes up to two inspections, any additional inspections required due to non-compliance with any applicable regulations will result in an additional inspection fee. In most cases, invoices are issued within 14 days of inspection, and payment is required within 30 days of the invoice date. Failure to submit payment may result in an additional fee or referral for collection.
