State of the City
Mayor delivered 2023 State of the City Address
The annual State of the City Address will be presented by Ventura Mayor Joe Schroeder at two events on Thursday, May 25, 2023. The first presentation was hosted by the Ventura Chamber of Commerce and the second was free, open to the public, and hosted by the City of Ventura. A recording of the event, including presentation slides are available below. The Spanish translation of the slides will be made available early June.

- Overview of the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Budget.
- Fiscal Year 2024 City Council goals.
- The X Games coming to Ventura in July 2023.
- Completion of the Classification & Compensation Study.
- $173 million Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) loan for VenturaWaterPure.
- Successfully securing over $66 million in grant funding for various Citywide projects.

Mayor Sofia Rubalcava delivered the annual State of the City Address at the City Council Meeting on October 10 as well as at an event hosted by the Ventura Chamber of Commerce on September 22, 2022. A recording of the event, including presentation slides in English and Spanish are available below.
