Outdoor Playgrounds Open

On September 28, 2020, the State announced that all outdoor playgrounds operated by a city or county are approved to reopen with safety guidelines. The City of Ventura has opened 25 of our 26 City playgrounds for the community to enjoy. Please note that the Marina Park playground will remain closed for cleaning and repair.

COVID-19 continues to pose a severe risk to communities and requires everyone to follow necessary precautions and to adapt the way they live and function in light of this ongoing risk.

Visitors to outdoor community playgrounds must comply with the following requirements:

  • Face masks, worn over the mouth and nose, are required for everyone 2 years of age or older with caregiver supervision at all times to ensure face mask use.
  • Do not use the playground when different households are unable to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet, or when the capacity limit has been reached.
  • Caregivers must monitor to keep adults and children from different households at least 6 feet apart.
  • Do not eat or drink at the playground, to ensure face masks are worn at all times.
  • Wash or sanitize your hands before and after using the playground.
  • Elderly individuals and people with underlying medical conditions should avoid playgrounds when others are present.
  • To avoid crowding and allow everyone a turn, please limit your visit to 30 minutes per day when others are present.
