Utility Billing Updates

On March 15, 2020, the City of Ventura declared a Local State of Emergency. In response, Ventura Water implemented a number of utility billing adjustments to support our customers during this challenging time.

Pending further legislation under the California Water and Wastewater Arrearages Payment Program, the current moratorium on water shutoffs for non-payments has been extended through December 31, 2021. Late fee assessments will continue to be suspended until further notice. Ventura Water remains committed to providing support to customers undergoing financial hardships as a result of COVID-19 and will continue to assist with flexible payment arrangements. COVID-19 Rent/Utility Relief 

The California state funded COVID-19 Rent Relief Program has funding available for eligible renters who have been impacted by COVID-19 and need help paying past due or future utility bills. Eligible renters may receive assistance for unpaid utility payments dating back to April 1, 2020, or for future utility payments, which will both be compensated at 100% of cost, limited to a total of 12 months, and paid directly to the utility provider. Ventura Water customers can pay their water bills using the following options: 

  • In-person payments can be made at the City Hall Treasury Office, Room #107. Patrons and vendors visiting City facilities and City Hall will be required to wear masks when indoors, and physical distancing shall be practiced
  • Drop Box locate in front of Ventura City Hall at 501 Poli Street, Ventura, CA 93001
  • Mail to: Ventura Water, P.O. Box 612770, San Jose, CA 95161-2770
  • 3rd Party payment options: 

3rd Party payment options are available using a checking or savings account, debit, or credit card (VISA or Mastercard).
 
 Please note that a $3.95 convenience fee will be charged for each online transaction and a $4.25 convenience fee will be charged for each phone transaction. The fee is paid directly to the processing company.

Drinking Water

  • Ventura Water is committed to providing its customers with safe, reliable, and quality water services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The City’s water supply meets all stringent state and federal drinking water requirements.
  • COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has no impact on the quality or supply of your tap water. Your tap water is safe and available to drink.
  • While it’s always advisable to stock bottled water at home in the case of emergencies, Ventura Water does not expect the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) to disrupt service to our customers.

Wastewater

  • Standard wastewater treatment and disinfectant processes are effective at treating viruses and pathogens. 
  • As a reminder: please do not flush wipes down the drain or toilet. "Flushable" wipes do not disintegrate, creating serious problems in our sewer system. Rather than flushing, please dispose of these products in the trash.
