While most park areas are available to small groups on a first come, first served basis, groups of 50 or more are required to have a permit. Additionally, permits are required for groups serving alcohol, using tent structures or other event equipment, and planning entertainment such as bounce houses, amplified sound, and stages. With over 27 City parks in Ventura and 6 large reservable BBQ and picnic areas, there are options for events of all sizes and types.
