Volunteer Opportunities

General Information

Volunteers play an important role in the City of Ventura. By contributing their time, energy, and talents, volunteers support a wide variety of programs and services. From beach clean-ups, to coaching, to leading historical tours, and delivering meals to seniors, volunteers make a huge difference in our community!

While our traditional volunteer opportunities are on hold, we have designed a Volunteer Bingo activity for community members of all ages to enjoy.

For your safety and the safety of others, please remember to follow all State of California, County of Ventura, and CDC safety guidelines for reducing the spread of COVID-19 when participating in this activity.

Volunteer Beach Bucket Challenge

To play, select one of the objects located in the Volunteer Beach Bucket Challenge (PDF). Each object is a fun volunteer challenge. Once you have completed a challenge, color-in the object with a crayon, colored pencil, or marker. Your challenge is to see how many objects you can add to your beach bucket by the end of summer!

  • Pick up trash at a local beach
  • Volunteer activity of your choice
  • Encourage a friend to volunteer with you
  • Help a neighbor, family member, or friend with a project
  • Bring someone a home-made meal
  • Volunteer at a community garden or in your neighborhood
  • Make hand-made gift, card, or note
