The Parks and Recreation Department is actively hiring part-time, extra-help positions. Below are some of the opportunities available, with the duties they may include but are not limited to.
Support after school program operations including leading enrichment activities, sports, and special programs, providing homework assistance, and keeping youth participants safe and engaged.
Support a variety of youth and adult sports leagues, including basketball, softball, volleyball, soccer, and flag football, as a scorekeeper, site supervisor, field monitor, and more.
Work at the Leo Robbins Community Sailing Center providing on-site supervision, instruction, and support for sailing, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding programs.
Support day camp operations including leading outdoor camp games, theme days, sports activities, and special programs, and keeping youth participants safe and engaged.
Work at one of our recreation or historic facilities supporting facility operations, programs, and events, helping with set-up and clean-up, supervising rentals, and supporting special projects. Requires weekend availability.
Teach hands-on education programs to students and provide local history tours and activities to individuals of all ages at the Olivas Adobe, Ortega Adobe, and other City historical sites.
Provide care and maintenance of community gardens and supplies, facilitate tours and orientations for prospective gardeners, and host classes and volunteer workdays.
Work at the Ventura Avenue Adult Center and assist with the preparation and serving of meals to program participants, volunteer coordination, clerical duties, and special projects.
Work at one of our recreation facilities supporting customers with class registrations and information. Assist with data entry, cash handling, clerical duties, facility support, and special projects.
Schedule, coordinate, and conduct tours of the city’s Municipal Art Collection for individuals of all ages and support public art program operations including training program volunteers.
Provide bus tour transportation, assist participants, and complete travel documentation. A valid California DMV Class B Driver's license with passenger endorsement, current medical certificate, and completed DOT training is required.
