Purchasing

The Purchasing & Contracts Division procures goods and non-professional services for City departments through a centralized purchasing process. City-funded capital improvement program (CIP) projects are handled by the Public Works department.

  • Prepare Quick Quotes
  • Bid and Proposal packages
  • Advertise and solicit for competitive bids to supply goods equipment materials and services to meet the City’s needs
  • Utilize State contracts for cooperative purchases when State goods and materials meet department specifications and needs
  • Issue purchase orders to the lowest responsible bidder
  • Resolve bid protests
  • Disposal of surplus property

Living Wage Requirements

Bidder understands and agrees that if Living Wages are applicable subject to the provisions of Chapter 2.525 of the San Buenaventura Municipal Code (the “Code”) entitled, “Living Wages and Benefits for City Services” 

Prevailing Wage Requirements: Department of Industrial Relations

Effective January 1, 2015, the payment of State prevailing rates of wages as designated for Ventura County for on-site work and delivery of materials shall apply to projects for alteration, demolition, repair, or maintenance work over $15,000.  Prevailing wages are required to be paid to all workers, including subcontracted employees
