City Council allocated Measure O funding to develop a Senior Strategic Plan (SSP) that will allow the City of Ventura to:
Identify current and emerging senior needs, potential gaps in services, and partnership opportunities
Develop a set of realistic goals for meeting senior needs with strategies and actionable steps for accomplishment
GreenPlay, LLC, a nationally-known parks and recreation management consulting firm, has been hired by the City of Ventura to develop the Senior Strategic Plan.
There are Still 2 Ways to Provide Input:
1. Complete a Senior Needs Assessment Survey
The survey is available via the City's website (see link above), in hard copy form, and in-person at City Hall, Room 226 and the Ventura Avenue Adult Center, 550 N. Ventura Avenue. The survey is open until Wednesday, October 30.
2. Contact the Consultant Directly
Share your input on senior services, needs, and priorities directly with the GreenPlay management consultant team through Wednesday, October 30.
Write a Letter: Drop off your letter at City Hall, Room 226 or at the Ventura Avenue Adult Center, 550 N. Ventura Avenue, and it will be delivered to the GreenPlay management consultant team.
Senior Strategic Planning Ad Hoc Committee
City Council established the Senior Strategic Planning Ad Hoc Committee to support the development of the Senior Strategic Plan and assist in engaging the community in the process. The committee consists of six City of Ventura residents. Their meetings will be held on the following Tuesdays from 1:30-2:30pm in the Santa Cruz Conference Room at City Hall: October 15, November 19, December 17, January 21, and February 18. This meeting is open to the public.
