There is so much to explore around Ventura! Ventura is the gateway to the Channel Islands National Park - known as the "North America's Galapagos!" Ventura is just 30 minutes away from destinations like Ojai and Santa Barbara and slightly longer drive yields an abundance of family friendly attractions such as Disneyland, Universal Studios, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills! A quick trip up/down the coast brings many coastal cities -  such as Malibu, Santa Monica, Or Venice Beach. Driveable weekend getaways include 7 national parks, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, San Diego, Mammoth, or even San Francisco!

Outdoor Recreation

The City of Ventura is home to more than 800 acres of parkland. There are 32 parks to choose from, each with its own scenic beauty, character, and amenities- ranging from rentable, covered picnic areas to sports fields and barbecue pits.

Hike a trail at Arroyo Verde Park, play tennis or baseball at Camino Real Park, or take your little ones to one of several oceanside playgrounds! Our parks offer something for everyone!

Whether you're 2 or 102, Ventura offers a myriad of recreational opportunities for every interest. The City of Ventura offers more than 200 classes every season.
