On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, the City of Ventura will post the program year 2019-2020 CDBG funding application on its website and will hold a MANDATORY PRE-FUNDING WORKSHOP at City Hall.
The purpose of the federally funded CDBG program is development of viable communities, decent housing and expanded economic opportunities to benefit persons of low- to moderate-income. Funding will be available for projects located within Ventura city limits that meet the CDBG program objectives and eligibility criteria. Public Service project funding is limited by CDBG regulations however, organizations are encouraged to apply for these activities.
Actual funding awards will be contingent upon the approved Federal budget set forth by Congress. The City typically estimates a five percent reduction in allocations, prior to the Federal allocation announcement. For the current program year, the City received $765,504 for the CDBG program.
